THE EVENT

“Wild Thing”, a wooded trail run starting and ending at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary to raise money for conservation and Audubon educational programs in Berkshire County.  The 5K course is great for runners or walkers, or runners can challenge themselves with the longer 10K distance.  Kennedy Park is the perfect location for a trail race with almost 15 miles of trails through hardwood forests and scenic views of the Berkshires.  The race goes through carriage roads and single track with a variety of elevation in both the 10K and 5K distances.

COMMUNICATIONS

A Challenge! Although “short” distances, look at the topo-map below. HQ is located NW of the ridge and most of the race is on the south, east and north side.

We will use whatever it takes! Last year we created a commercial system since most all volunteers were non-hams. Let see what we can do this year.

In 2018 we would like to engage Ham Radio Operators as well. If interested, please contact me at knutfinn at gmail.com
