DMR Networks

DMR Repeaters can be operated locally like old fashion FM repeaters or networked for wide area coverage. The are numerous networks available for the repeater owner:

  • Brandmeister
  • DMR-MARC
  • DMR+
  • DCI

Each of the networks have Pro’s and Con’s. Some are older, some have more restrictions. Brandmeister Network is like a sandbox. The repeater owner can decide which Talk Group should always be available, but the ham-operator can always key up any talk-group at will. This, of course, requires more discipline of the ham-operator than a rigid system which only offers a couple of choices.

The N1ATP Repeaters are on Brandmeister and thus offer a world-wide flexible system.
