The equipment varies greatly from strictly RF based to strictly smartphone based. I like to use all tools available and blend these technologies to suit the event the best. Early on we would lug boat anchor sized desktop computers in to the event headquarters and erected tall antennas to receive all information via RF. Today I use internet based devises (if possible) to display an aggregate of RF and internet based signals. This allows multiple screens on multiple devices without large antennas and special devices. It also allows a “main” display is numerous locations, to include a pocket size display in the field via a smartphone.
Check out the following pages for some of the equipment used.
